Unter den Nominierten befinden sich dieses Jahr einige Überraschungen. Führendes Programm ist eindeutig die Fantasy-Serie „Game of Thrones“ mit insgesamt 24 Nominierungen. Die vierte Staffel der Serie „American Horror Story“, „Freak Show“, geht mit 19 Nominierungen an den Start.
"Orphan Black"'s Tatiana Maslany ist zum Wohlgefallen der Fans für ihre Portraitierung diverser Charaktere (Klone ihrer selbst) erstmals unter den Nominierten.
